16 The vexation of a fool is known at once,
but the prudent ignores an insult.

| 0:10.7 | question. Do you know a person who is quick to become angry? I mean a |
| 0:16.7 | person who's just got that short fuse and their temper flares the moment they |
| 0:20.9 | seem upset about something. |
| 0:23.0 | Maybe that person's you. |
| 0:25.0 | I mean, I don't mean to point a finger because I don't know you, obviously. |
| 0:29.0 | But I think it's good for us. |
| 0:32.0 | It applies for us to think about ourselves, first of all, |
| 0:36.8 | before we consider those other people. |
| 0:39.7 | We've been looking at the book of Proverbs, andverbs chapter 11 verse number 16 has a very interesting |
| 0:46.9 | verse here actually this Proverbs chapter 12 verse 16 it says the vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult. |
| 1:00.0 | So what's another way of saying that? It's saying the person who's hot-headed, who has a short fuse and gets angry right away, is a fool. |
| 1:10.0 | But a wise person ignores an insult. |
| 1:15.0 | A wise person understands insults are words. |
| 1:20.0 | They're nothing of power that can truly harm you unless you allow it to harm you. |
| 1:27.0 | And so getting angry, getting all worked up about what he said or she said or what's been said about you. |
| 1:34.5 | It's not really worth your time. |
| 1:36.9 | It's a fool to let yourself get all angry |
| 1:40.3 | about those sorts of things. |
| 1:42.2 | And it says, but the prudent ignores an insult. |
| 1:45.0 | A wise person realizes that person by insulting you |
