but he who hates reproof is stupid.

| 0:44.1 | discipline could mean the kind of discipline a child would receive from a |
| 0:48.0 | parent. It's a kind of loving correction. May involve some kind of physical discipline of some sort to drive the point home. |
| 0:58.6 | But it's saying that a wise person, a person who loves knowledge who loves to learn, |
| 1:04.8 | understands that that kind of discipline is needed at times. |
| 1:11.4 | The hardship that comes from something being impressed upon you forcefully is often what brings about knowledge and wisdom, isn't it? |
| 1:21.0 | But I think he also could be talking about a different kind of discipline. |
| 1:25.0 | It's the kind of self-discipline that we have to apply to ourselves at times, |
| 1:30.0 | where we are working hard at something, not relenting in our efforts to attain something or to develop |
| 1:37.0 | a, well we would call it a discipline in some area. |
| 1:41.9 | You see that kind of discipline as well brings knowledge. It brings a type of wisdom |
| 1:48.2 | to us that we really need. And the contrary side of this whole thing or the opposite that Solomon brings forth is that the one who hates reproof or correction is stupid. |
| 2:03.6 | I think about our culture and I think about some of the things that we hear from time to time. |
| 2:09.1 | Things like people saying, who does he think he is telling me what to do with my kids? |
