for over 40 years and I've been asked a lot of questions, but none more fundamental than this one.

What do I need to know to be a Christian?

Maybe someone you care about is asking this question, maybe you're asking this question, let's consider the answer from an unlikely

source, the thief who hung on a cross next to Jesus.

Through Christ we pray, and all the church said,

maybe you could picture a carpenter in a workshop

as he looks over an old chair legs missing another one looks appeared

warped worked some of the connections are loose, sure could use a coat of paint.

And most people would see this chair and pass on it that served its purpose toss it out. It has no more function but not

this carpenter, this carpenter sees this chair and says I can I can do something with that. It's within his skill

set he he can envision this chair returning to a place of function and purpose. It can once again be the place

where a little child sits and studies or a family member sits and eats. Most of us would see it as something to discard, not this good

carpenter. He sees it as a project to renew. Or a handyman you could envision coming across in the basement of
