Welcome to the perfume room. Today I am coming in hot because I want to talk to you about

powdery sense, my ode to them, my complicated relationship with them, and here is why. I think

powdery sense is like a bit of a misnomer because people hear powder, they have such an association

with baby powder that they assume if there is a powder note, it is going to be that very specific

Johnson and Johnson smell.

But if something smells powdery, it doesn't necessarily have to mean baby powder.

It could be powdery in that like the texture feels powdery, the texture feels chalky.

I think that's sort of why I love Orris so much because it has like a sort of chalky,

powdery, grainy texture in the

smell and in the feel. But today I want to talk to you about the scent that I am currently wearing,

which is Narciso Poudre. And please don't come at me for saying that with an affected accent.

I did take French in school and I cannot in good good conscience, say Narciso Poudre.

It just, I can't.

I don't have a full bottle of this.

I only have a decant.

But the reason that this is an anomaly in my collection is because most of the, air quote,

powdery sense I gravitate towards are more for that textured powdery feel versus the

smell or anything sort of synonymous with any sort

of baby powder or body powder. But putre does smell like some sort of body powder and yet I love it.

There's something about it that feels very reminiscent of like my grandmother's era, but it's elevated and it's this

modern take on something that's a very classic traditional smell. It's this very floral, musky scent.

And the notes that I smell the most in this order would be Jasmine, Tonka, and Musk. And I think the combination of the three, I don't know, it creates something that, like,
