podcast is all about this week, I'm just going to hand over to Sarah, just to give you a bit of context in.

What is a squiggly career all about?

Yeah, we talk about squiggly careers all the time.

So we just thought, let's try and summarise what are the key characteristics of what we mean when we say squiggly career.

I think there are three things.

One, that there is lots of change in a squiggly career.

Two, uncertainty. and three, possibility. So,

change, uncertainty and possibility. And I think for all of us now, that's a reality in our careers.

So even if we're, it may be in quite a traditional organisation or still feel like we're climbing something that would

feel a bit more like a career ladder.

I think though the nature of the sort of work we're doing, the things that we're all going

to be doing in the future will all be characterised by the fact there is lots more change,

you know, driven by things like, you know, how work, the future of work and how, you know,

lots more people are going to be freelancing in a future. We can all travel lots more technology.

So there are lots of kind of factors or inputs that have, that means that our careers now feel

less straightforward and less predictable and just way more squiggly.
