| 0:40.1 | Yeah, we talk about squiggly careers all the time. |
| 0:42.0 | So we just thought, let's try and summarise what are the key characteristics of what we mean when we say squiggly career. |
| 0:48.6 | I think there are three things. |
| 0:50.4 | One, that there is lots of change in a squiggly career. |
| 0:58.7 | Two, uncertainty. and three, possibility. So, |
| 1:04.8 | change, uncertainty and possibility. And I think for all of us now, that's a reality in our careers. |
| 1:10.7 | So even if we're, it may be in quite a traditional organisation or still feel like we're climbing something that would |
| 1:11.4 | feel a bit more like a career ladder. |
| 1:13.5 | I think though the nature of the sort of work we're doing, the things that we're all going |
| 1:19.4 | to be doing in the future will all be characterised by the fact there is lots more change, |
| 1:24.8 | you know, driven by things like, you know, how work, the future of work and how, you know, |
| 1:30.2 | lots more people are going to be freelancing in a future. We can all travel lots more technology. |
| 1:35.9 | So there are lots of kind of factors or inputs that have, that means that our careers now feel |
| 1:41.0 | less straightforward and less predictable and just way more squiggly. |
