I'm welcoming everybody into what feels like the first big next-lander podcast for 2022. We're done with our game of the year stuff. No more looking back. No, I look back a little bit because we're gonna look back to today.

But we're gonna do a little bit of that, but this is I'm here to embrace everybody Brad Shoemaker Alex Navarro. We're welcoming any new folks who are coming in. There's okay. Let's not let's not get out of hand. There's never been a better time to be playing video games and it still holds true today as it did yesterday. That's right. Every video game that has ever released is still there for you to play as of right now.

Which is good because no one's putting any new ones out this month. Oh, they're working on it. They're hard. They're hard at work in the video game.

No game button pushing hit export and see what happens. How can how can you say that in good conscience when we just played a video game that is releasing it tomorrow?

We did it. We found the one with one of the developers of that game. That's very weak. That's right.

Technically, it's going into early access. So well, the game we're talking about there is Anna Cruces. And we're gonna talk about that in Resident Evil Village a little bit later.

And we're gonna get to the news. But first, I have a high water, bring a 2020 to resolution to you guys something I'm trying out in 2022. And it's a big one. And it might be a little goofy.

Is it is it is it 1440 p. No, lol. That sounds that sounds pretty good. No, no.

And it's I'm gonna share a little something personal here, but I am going to try in my 2022 life to move away from underscores and file names to hyphens.

Oh, you're joining me. I think this you noticed. I noticed I've been using a lot of hyphens. I think they're still a place for the underscore.

Okay, so what I need to know because I come from I come from underscores are accepted characters hyphens might not be.

Oh, really? Yeah, so that's why I've used underscores. Oh shit. Okay, I thought the hyphen was universal. I don't.

Is it universe? Is it if you go back in time 3040 years, will a hyphen be rejected as a file name, even if it's under eight characters?

If there are any anthologists of file systems out there who can let us know if there's any any files system we can't put hyphens on.

Like if I if if I put a hyphen in and it's a file that gets passed in a URL, will it have to be escaped out or or, you know, put out within escape character.

That's why I use underscores. I feel like generally they don't have you considered my method, which is just to jumble all the words together into one long string of characters that is border wide unreadable.

Look, look, that's very that's very German of you and I appreciate it, but that's right. There's a legibility thing there.

You can go camel case. You can go Pascal case. I'm a fan of camel case camel case. We're going to a lot of numbers though. You can't case numbers.

No, and that's where I've moved over. I've noticed your file names. I'm like, you know, there's something there's a legibility to Brad's file names that I really appreciate.
