Okay, before we start this episode, I just want to formally on air apologize to Justin for suggesting this topic. It was a horrible idea,

but the topic is Netflix Christmas movies. And the reason I'm apologizing is because two years ago,

we did a whole holiday episode of The Important Cinema Club on Hallmark Christmas movies.

And I was pretty pleased with the results. I thought it was fun. And I thought, well, let's, let's try the Netflix ones. And what made me interested in seeing the Netflix ones is they seem indistinguishable to me from Hallmark ones. And you were wondering what was the difference? Like, what would a streaming giant bring to something that has been codified by

channels like Hallmark and Lifetime? Well, and the Hallmark Christmas movies, there are tens,

hundreds, thousands of them, who knows, and they all seem exactly the same, and nobody remembers

the titles of them. You have a on in the background and it's like a

Yule Log video. People know that, oh, this one has Candace Cameron Beret in it. This one has

Danica McKellar. You're saying names and I'm just smiling and nodding. I have no idea what

you're talking about. Two years ago, you were intimately familiar with these names when we did that

episode. As we talked about before, once we hit stop recording on the podcast, all that information

is blasted from our mind for good.

The Netflix ones, they seem to be bigger events.

Like, people know the names of the Netflix movies.

This year, there was a big one with Lindsay Lohan.

There was a Christmas Prince, the fucking Vanessa Hudgens one that we just watched.

Oh, a Christmas switch. A Christmas switch, which has... Part three. Now, there's three of them. That's right. There are two sequels. I mean, these are movies that people know. These are movies that if you go on Letterboxed, you know, 100,000 people have logged them. So I was just curious, when we did the Hallmark Christmas episodes,

what I was, what we were foolishly looking for was, where is the art here? What is the Edgar G.

Elmer of the Hallmark Christmas film? And I want to go back to that comparison because these
