Your family got there in the 80s and started working in terms of production

as opposed to to selling the grapes that your earlier ancestors had farmed.

My great-grandfather purchased vineyards in the town of Via Grande.

My grandfather was a pharmacist.

He was not too keen to develop this family passion further.

So we almost skipped a generation.

And then he was my father in the 80s that actually started making wine very, very, very seriously. He was a pioneer. He reclaimed some vines, he purchased others,

he did some like long-term lease deals with small growers who didn't want to sell so that today we own or

control vineyards on the three good sides of Aetna.

Your father starts bottling under the Benati winery name in the late 80s and what was the evolution of the portfolio

from him starting that process to now?

My father is a typical guy who after reaching a certain age in this case the age of 43 and coming

from a successful career with his father in the pharmaceutical field he's always been a wine lover that you and I like those who are listening

and he wanted to make good wine.

At the beginning he did not bottle name under the name Benanti.
