fascinating conversation with Matt Besser this was recorded earlier this year at the Montreal Comedy Festival.

Matt was kind enough to come along and talk to us about improv, about his own stand-up comedy,

and as well as being a comic. And I saw him after this interview in fact I wish I'd seen it before

we recorded a TV show together at Just for Last and he walked on and improvised his set

he's that kind of stand-up comic really excellent and and he holds the

holds the distinction of the

really excellent and as well as that he holds the distinction of being

one of the four co-founders of the upright citizens brigade the

UCB one of the most influential improv comedy troops ever to come out of the States.

Matt founded that along with Amy, Polar, Matt Walsh and Ian Roberts.

We're going to talk a little bit about that and a bit more about the origins of improv as we know it,

the work of Del Close and how that went on to inform everything that followed after.
