π TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 8:14-21
14 I have counsel and sound wisdom;
I have insight; I have strength.
15 By me kings reign,
and rulers decree what is just;
16 by me princes rule,
and nobles, all who govern justly.[a]
17 I love those who love me,
and those who seek me diligently find me.
18 Riches and honor are with me,
enduring wealth and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold,
and my yield than choice silver.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness,
in the paths of justice,
21 granting an inheritance to those who love me,
and filling their treasuries.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome back to the Morning Mindset Edition of the Liberal Change Podcast. My name is |
| 0:07.6 | Carrie Green. I am a retired pastor who just loves the fact that God has given himself to us and he wants to |
| 0:16.5 | live through us to produce in us the kind of life that brings him great glory and |
| 0:21.8 | us great good that really is what the |
| 0:24.2 | gospel is all about. We have the honor. We have the privilege of being involved in |
| 0:29.0 | his plans for the world and for history. And it's an amazing privilege. We've been looking at the book of Proverbs |
| 0:37.6 | with an aim toward understanding what is this thing we refer to as wisdom. |
| 0:43.6 | What is it? |
| 0:44.6 | How are we to understand it and how does it apply to our lives? |
| 0:49.3 | Well in Chapter number 8 of the Book of Proverbs. The writer has been describing wisdom by |
| 0:56.1 | likening it to a woman who's calling out with zeal and with compassion for others |
| 1:01.5 | to listen to her and understand the counsel that she gives. |
| 1:06.9 | And she says in verse 15, by me, King's reign and rulers decree what is just. |
| 1:14.7 | By me, princes, rule, and nobles, all who govern justly. |
| 1:18.7 | And do you see there something that to me is very much an indictment of our current political climate. |
| 1:25.0 | And I'm not getting political here in terms of being partisan. |
| 1:29.0 | I'm just pointing out that wisdom is what's needed to rule. And justice is the outcome of |
| 1:37.0 | wisdom being applied to rulership. And so kings, rulers, princes, nobles, all who govern are to govern justly and they do that |
| 1:47.0 | by wisdom. |
| 1:49.1 | So the implication is that if a person who is in a position of rulership or leadership does not have wisdom, |
| 1:57.0 | they are incapable of being just, truly just, in the way that they rule, the way that they lead. |
| 2:05.0 | Man, our politics could sure use a shot of this, couldn't it? |
