Nuret is quite a common first name in Hebrew, It's the name of a flower known in English as buttercup.

Hi, Corimley Noirrit. My name's Noirrit and I grew up in New York where no one could pronounce my name.

I don't even mean pronounce it in the correct Hebrew version.

I can barely do that.

I mean just get the letters of my name out and you are IT. It's like people's minds would go on tilt and they would just start saying any sounds.

I've gotten Wawit, Marit, Marie, Maria, actually my least favorite has all the letters but I hate

how it sounds, Nuret. Now I live in Italy where 90% of Italians here Lou Reed the first time I

introduced myself, which is decidedly better than one, Nuret. Anyway, I remember being in Israel as a young adult in a

Roma cafe and I'd given my name to the cashier. It was amazing. I said my name

she just nodded in recognition and typed it into the computer no confusion no spelling

It was really an emotional experience for me

After a few minutes I heard my name being called and it was like music. I went up to get my ice coffee,

but there was another woman there with her hand on the ice coffee.

She looked at me and said almost accusingly,
