Summary

Hello and welcome to episode 312 of The Mindful Kind podcast.

In this episode, you'll discover three important stages that can be helpful when you're making choices that feel right for you.

Stage 1: Collect new information with an open mind (even if you don't agree with it!)

Stage 2: Analyse new information and ask yourself helpful questions, like "Could it be good or interesting if I apply my new knowledge to my life?"

Stage 3: Experiment and adjust. If you decide to apply new things in your life, notice what works well (and what doesn't!).

Note: In the episode, I mentioned that I've recently started practicing Qigong and I'm really enjoying it! Click here to watch a masterclass on Qigong or click here to enrol in the same course I've been studying. Thank you so much for listening and I hope you have a wonderful week, Mindful Kind.

Hello and welcome to episode 312 of the Mindful Kind podcast where I'll be talking about

0:29.1

forging your own path in the new year and making choices that feel aligned with your own

0:34.5

wants and needs. So this episode was inspired by a bit of a funny story.

0:39.5

I was actually reading an article last week and it was called something like

0:43.3

things that everyone should do before 8 o'clock in the morning. And look, I'm sure the writer

0:49.1

had wonderful intentions and yes, he absolutely shared some great ideas that were interesting

0:54.1

and helpful.

0:55.4

But as I read through the list, I just thought, no, I don't want to do all these things in the

1:02.0

article first thing in the morning. I don't want to take a cold shower, even if it might improve

1:07.6

my immunity or my circulation. I don't necessarily want to do hard

1:12.5

physical activity every morning either. And reading this article just made me think about the

1:17.8

importance of making our own choices, collecting information and learning new things,

1:24.2

experimenting and implementing new ideas that feel meaningful or exciting, and shaping

1:29.7

our lives to suit our unique personalities and circumstances.

1:34.9

Maybe taking a cold shower first thing in the morning feels amazing for you, and if it does,

1:39.4

that's awesome.

1:40.7

Go for it, I absolutely support you doing something that feels right for you. But it's not something

1:46.1

that I want to do. And that's okay. I'm not just talking about cold showers here. Like I personally

1:52.0

enjoy meditation and maybe you don't. I've seen people training for marathons and loving it,
