Summary

In this episode, Corrine and Neil unpack what to do when you get offended—a follow-up to their recent conversation about repentance (Ep 309). They share personal stories and recovery insights about how resentment can quietly take root and how holding on to offense can block spiritual growth and peace. Neil opens up about working through resentment after his brother’s death and how forgiveness became essential to his healing. Corrine reflects on how stress is often tied to focusing inward and how shifting toward serving others and surrendering control to God brings relief and perspective. A key theme of this discussion is the power of ownership: why learning to speak from the “I” and “me” perspective, instead of projecting with “you” or “we,” is essential in healing conversations. Together, they offer heartfelt advice on letting go of resentment, cleaning up your side of the street, and inviting God into your process of moving forward. This conversation is for anyone wanting to let go of lingering hurts, release resentment, and find peace through grace and accountability. "The Healing Power of Forgiveness" by President James E. Today's episode is a follow-up of the last time Y'all and I did a solo episode,

0:13.4

which was a couple weeks ago on the topic of repentance.

0:17.2

And the reason why we decided to circle back to this is because at the very end of that episode,

0:25.0

where there just wasn't enough time to, like, completely open a new chapter and start a new topic,

0:30.1

we talked about, like, what to do if you, you know, tried to work with a religious leader to repent

0:35.5

and then, you know, had not a great experience.

0:38.4

And so that led us to just say, like, we really should do an episode on like what to do when

0:43.7

you get offended. And ironically, after that, a few days ago, I posted this thing on Instagram,

0:51.4

like a little carousel is what they call it.

0:54.5

Like there's several photos that you slide through to,

0:58.1

it used to be just to see lots of different photos of,

1:01.6

you know, one event or one theme or whatever.

1:03.9

But now people use them to send messages, you know,

1:07.4

like a themed message across several slides.

1:12.0

And so I shared this takeaway that I had two weeks in a row at our 12-step meeting,

1:17.9

which was both weeks I walked in feeling really stressed, just like the weight of the

1:22.9

world on my shoulders, so much going on.

1:25.3

And by the end of the meeting, by the time i had listened to a bunch of other

1:29.0

people share and read through every week we have like a reading that we do depending on which

1:34.2

step we're focused on and last week it was step nine yeah step nine which is like the step that

1:42.0

you make amends with people that you've wronged.

1:45.4

And I just had this realization, just like I had the week before,
