Summary

Jen welcomes legal scholar Ruth Halperin-Kaddari to raise the alarm about the violence against women perpetrated by Hamas on 10/7.  They discuss the scope of the crimes and fight back against the propaganda attempting to cover them up by laying out the evidence from video footage, first responder reports, and testimony from the hostages.  Then, they share the importance of speaking out for Israel's women in the name of global womens’ rights, the need for action by the UN and International Criminal Court, and the legal strategies that can bring the perpetrators to justice.

Hi, this is Jen Rubin, and this is Jen Rubin's green room.

Well, there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is once again, inflation is petering off, dying down,

0:24.2

down to 3.1%, far cry from 9.1%. And job creation continues, growth continues. So despite the

0:34.4

catawalling, the economic outlook is quite rosy, and even gas prices are

0:39.9

continuing to go down.

0:41.8

So let's hope people notice, and frankly, they do notice when it matters, not in response

0:48.1

to pollsters, but in their spending habits, and spending continues to be strong, which will

fuel the economic recovery.

But, of course, much of the world's attention is on two hotspots. First, let's talk about Ukraine.

1:02.4

The president of Ukraine was on the hill on Tuesday, President Zelensky, pleading with Congress

1:08.3

to continue to fund Ukraine. Understanding that Ukraine is decimating

1:13.6

a enemy of the United States, Russia, it is knocking out large segments of its military. It is taking

1:21.5

a stand for freedom and for the security of Europe. And Republicans are fuzzling around because they are acting at the beck and

1:29.6

call of Trump, who is infatuated with Vladimir Putin. They are using it as a pretext to demand

1:36.6

all sorts of vague and unspecific demands on the border and on immigration.

1:44.8

And we don't know whether this is going to happen or not.

1:47.8

They may well cut off Ukraine at a very critical time and when there's no more money in the bank,

1:54.6

as it were.

1:55.3

Now, I would refer back to an important report that came out earlier this year. And that essentially reminded the

2:04.5

administration that there is executive authority right now, without Congress acting, to use the

2:11.0

funds that they have frozen, the Russian oligarchs, the money that they seized, the money they

2:16.1

impounded, and give that to Ukraine
