| 0:50.0 | Was there something that surprised you about starting your career straight out of school? |
| 0:54.4 | Luckily when I graduated from Lyme, they give out a scholarship to a student each year to have a |

| 1:01.3 | So I got that and I had a solo show there after one year. |
| 1:05.8 | So that definitely helped me that first year. |
| 1:08.7 | It gave me a goal. |
| 1:10.5 | You know, that's what happens when you have everything kind of sorted out and all of a sudden there's nothing it can be really scary |
| 1:15.8 | Since then I've always tried to have a show set up even if it's two years ahead so it keeps me going. |
| 1:24.2 | So that first year it's much different you know when you have to get a model |
| 1:27.3 | yourself and you're working in your own studio and you're paying them yourself |
| 1:30.4 | and you have to really focus on stuff you know and I think I I learned a lot more that year I became a better painter because of that |
| 1:37.8 | probably it's like four years isn't enough you know like as far as if you want to paint realist, it's just not enough. |
