Rory we're recording this on Tuesday shortly after Kia Starmer has given a

big speech in the Rose Garden in Downing Street. We're going to

talk about that. We're going to reflect a little bit on our time in the United States

at the Democratic National Convention. We're going to talk about Modi,

Prime Minister of India and his visit to Ukraine

and just more generally about India foreign policy,

which is really, really interesting.

And then we're going to talk about again about Sudan which

gets so little attention and more broadly about the whole what we call the global

South so should we start with Kia?

So we've just watched him give a speech in the Rose Garden of Downing Street, which people will remember

is that little garden out the back, which I think came to prominence for many people because it's where David Cameron and Nick Clegg did their famous sort of romance announcement to the coalition.

It's also had another bit of fame, I because Boris Johnson was accused I think of having parties there

And also because it's where ludicrously Dominic Cummings did a press conference to explain his Barnard Castle trip

That's right that's where Dominic Cummings during COVID had apparently

tested his eyesight by driving up to Barnard Castle.
