You are now tuned into the show where you learn the discipline to show up day after day to do the work, the confidence to put yourself out there boldly and authentically in the mental toughness to continue showing up, doing the work. Plin yourself out there, even when the success you've expected to achieve has yet to be achieved. And on top of all this, you get a huge dose of personal initiative that is the go-getter energy that moves any one of us, including yourself, to go and make things happen instead of waiting for things that happen. And then we put all this together into a series of frameworks, approaches, insights, strategies and techniques underneath the umbrella one unifying philosophy that it's called on Your Game. My name is Drey Baldwin, also known as Drey All Day, and welcome to the show. And today's topic is how to change. This is part one of what is going to be a four-part series on how to change. Now with that out the way, it's getting to this topic here today, which is how to change. Definition of change is to make someone or something different to alter or to |
| 2:39.1 | modify. Being at this show is both personal and professional development. I know that people who |
| 2:44.6 | listen to are are looking to change in positive ways and you're looking to do so on a consistent |
| 2:48.8 | basis. So in today's episodes, and again, over this four-part mini-series, I'm going to explain to you exactly what needs to happen in order for that change to occur. And I'm going through making sure that we do actually have a four-part series. Yes, four-part series. I'm going to tell you what exactly needs to happen and what needs to be in place for you to make that change. And I think all of you want to change again in a positive way. So change doesn't have to be something is going bad. It just means you want to do better and you want to move forward, which you should look to do because the world is always changing. And if the world's changing a year or not, that means you're getting caught in a standstill and neutral while the world's moving forward, which means by definition, you lose. |
| 3:24.5 | So let's get into it. Point number one. Topping once again is how to change. First thing is |
| 3:28.5 | understanding that your challenge is not in what to do. This is one of the biggest mistakes people |
| 3:33.2 | make when they're trying to make any type of change, whether you're trying to make something |
| 3:36.1 | better, stop something, start something, figure something out, get something completed, just get a thing done. |
| 3:42.4 | Most people get bogged down and this thought of and this challenge with, what do I do? |
| 3:48.7 | And when they don't know what to do, people use that as the reason why they're not making the |
| 3:53.3 | change or they can't take the next step or they think the only thing they need is for someone |
| 3:57.0 | to tell them what to do. This is where many people get crossed up when it comes to change. And it's not that you don't need to know what to do. You do need to know what to do, but you can't get crossed up focused on what do I need to do. The first thing most people think about is what they need to do. But the actual change needs to come from who you are being as a person. |
| 4:18.1 | And the change in actions will result from the change in self-image. |
| 4:24.2 | First thing you should ask yourself is not what do I need to do, but who do I need to be as a person? |
