For today's episode of the Realignment, I'm speaking with Nick Santanam,

one of the authors of the titanium economy,

how industrial technology can create a better, faster, stronger America.

Nick and his co-authors argue that the modern reinvented industrial sector is going to play a

central role in revitalizing the American economy over the next decade. He also upends a lot of

the conventional wisdom about the weakness of the manufacturing sector as left over from the

70s and 80s. We discuss the key industries that make up the titanium economy,

how 21st century manufacturing differs from earn a stoutia, tinted image of its 50s

heyday, the geopolitical and structural economic changes fueling American manufacturing,

how the titanium economy will help boost wages, fill the middle class, and spur economic growth

outside the coast, and how young people and workers can access careers in the space even if they

haven't followed the traditional higher education path. I spent a lot of time on this topic lately,

and I just can't emphasize enough how exciting it is. It's pretty clear that the political side

of things is going to be stuck in a rut slash loop for the next few cycles. Trans like the

manufacturing boom as the world deculboilizes exactly this sort of shift, the chessboard needs

that will allow our system and people within it to produce different outcomes. On another note,
