bother answering them obviously. Today's topic is sensory processing disorder

in ADHD. In many cases children who have been diagnosed with the ADHD might also be contending with

sensory processing disorder.

Some studies suggest that up to 40% of children with ADHD have sensory processing challenges.

Your child's attention might be scattered and a sensory issue could be

contributing to it like a tag in the shirt that is bothering her or even the lighting in the room.

Your child might have heightened impulsivity but the source of the symptom could be a food

sensitivity or a vision problem.

It is important for clinicians to evaluate a child for SPD and ADHD.

An accurate diagnosis determines the best treatment plan for helping the child manage symptoms and lead a happier life.
