We have an assignment. It is the preeminent assignment of your life.

We may describe ourselves by the state in which we live or the profession for which we've been trained or what it is we do to earn a living or how many children we have or where we reside,

but the reality is the primary definition to think for which we will be evaluated above all others is how we have responded to the opportunity to be advocates for the kingdom of Almighty God.

Our title is Let Freedom Ring. Let Freedom Ring. Freedom doesn't come from governments. Freedom doesn't come from

political parties or ideologies. True freedom for the human being comes from

God himself. He's the creator of heaven and earth. He's our Creator. He put his spirit within his people and the degree to which you and I live lives in freedom, whether it's emotionally or physically or in any other part of our person,

that freedom comes from God.

And the essential component of that freedom is what we're celebrating this weekend. The Redemptive Work of Jesus. The

redemptive work of Jesus, his death, burial and his resurrection, makes possible a freedom for every human being.

It's not about a particular congregation or a particular

denomination or a particular translation of the Bible. Our freedom is grounded in

the redemptive work of Jesus. But for far too long we've thought of it in terms of an initiation into the kingdom being born again or saved or converted. I believe in that

But the spiritual life that is just the beginning point and from that point we have to continue to walk more completely into the freedom of

God.

And that imagination I think is pretty small in the hearts of God's people.
