| 0:18.9 | training questions. So I was talking to Rudy, and Rudy was mentioning that his overhead press is weak, |
| 0:26.3 | and he was asking me about Arnold Press, and whether you keep the elbows in tight or let them flare. |
| 0:32.6 | I just want to talk a little bit about the Arnold Press in general. |

| 0:38.8 | are a means to lead to an outcome. So I know this is going to sound very basic, |
| 0:47.0 | but I really want you to stay with me. When you are selecting an exercise, this is why pillar |
| 0:53.8 | number three means what you do, make sure what you're doing |
| 0:57.2 | is going to lead to the outcome. So if your outcome, you want to build muscle on your shoulders, |
| 1:01.7 | you want to pick an exercise that you can progressively overload, that's stable, that's going to |
| 1:07.4 | target the muscles you're trying to work. And in this case, if that's the goal, Arnold presses are not ideal. |
| 1:14.4 | You get a lot more fatigue and there's a lot more, I don't want to say flare in terms of |
| 1:20.3 | elbow positioning, but I mean, you're not choosing an ideal exercise in order to target the anterior deltoid. |
| 1:29.5 | Now, will doing Arnold presses and can Arnold presses build you muscle, of course, |
| 1:36.2 | you can progressively overload this movement. |
| 1:38.4 | But my point is, you want to pick the most stable exercise possible. |
| 1:41.7 | So if you can get a quality shoulder overhead press machine, a Smith machine is great. |
| 1:50.5 | If you don't have machines available, you can do this with dumbbells with an overhead |
| 1:55.0 | pressing movement, but you want to stabilize as much as possible. |
| 1:57.8 | And in my experience, rather than do an upright position, you are better off at a high |
