Summary

In today's episode, Emily is completing this mini series with spirituality. She is first talking about breath work, meditation and stillness because these are ways that can open the door to having a more spiritual life. These things are not difficult to incorporate and don't have to be time consuming. Sometimes all it takes is taking 5 deep breaths or a 5 minute meditation. Or you could start your morning out with prayer and connect with God. Another way to help with your spirituality is to write/journal what's going on in your heart, mind, and then sit in stillness and allow yourself to reflect. Emily goes into many more ways you can grow in your spirituality daily in today's episode.

In this episode we talk about:

  • What you can do for daily spiritual growth and how to access it
  • It can be hard to connect to the deepest parts of yourself
  • Breath work, meditation, stillness are all great, easy ways to do this
  • Prayer is an amazing ways to grow in your connection with God
  • Journal what's happening inside your heart, mind what you're praying about and sit in stillness as you reflect on it all
  • Acts of kindness and be of service to others will have a huge impact on your life

Hello everyone and welcome to the Evolve at the Emily Show. I'm your host, Emily Hayden,

0:04.4

and you are joining me for episode five in a mini series that I'm doing of these many episodes

0:10.3

where I share some daily practices of the daily ingredients of my life that make me my best self.

0:16.5

Now, I have shared in different areas of my life from what I do for the mind, body, soul,

0:23.2

rejuvenation, recovery. And today we're going to be talking about what I do for daily spiritual

0:28.4

growth and nourishment. Just as a reminder, this is not a to-do list. It is simply a list of

0:35.3

daily ingredients that stays on my fridge because I frequent the fridge throughout the day.

0:40.0

And it really just serves as a method of self-awareness to say, hey, are you doing the daily practices that make you your best self?

0:46.6

Have you nourished yourself in your mind, body, soul, spirit?

0:50.1

And it's a really great way just to make sure that I'm having touch points on these things every

0:54.3

single day. It keeps me on target with my goals. It keeps me feeling my best. And it really helps to

1:00.1

course redirect me when I fall off or I am actively participating in habits and practices that are

1:06.9

not making me my best. So today we're talking about spirituality. Now I'm going to start with

1:13.4

the first one, which I'm going to mention is breathwork, meditation, and stillness. I'm putting this

1:19.0

kind of all in one category. Now, I find that people sometimes fail to connect spiritually because

1:26.0

they fail to first and foremost be present.

1:29.3

We are in this wired society where people are overly caffeinated, overly stimulated,

1:35.3

and they have so much going on that they're never connected to the deepest parts of themselves,

1:41.3

where I feel divine wisdom and divine insight and the divinity actually

1:46.7

lives and exists within us. But oftentimes people are never taught how to access that.

1:52.5

So it's like, it's almost like they are trying to access something that they haven't even

1:57.3

open the door to just yet. And so I mentioned breathwork, work meditation and stillness first because I think it can be a really
