Arrested May 30, 2007, 8-year-old Amardip Sata gained worldwide notoriety as the world's youngest serial killer when it was reported

that he had allegedly murdered three babies over the course of one year.

Born in 1998 to poor villagers in Bahar, India, A Mardip, sometimes reported as Amargit, was immediately

a suspect amongst those who knew him when a local six-month-old girl named Cushbudevi turned

up missing. Her mother had left her sleeping baby unattended

at the village primary school while she tended to chores around her home. When Chun-Chun-Devi

went back to retrieve her child, she was gone.

Now the villagers had a gut feeling, maybe they even anticipated this day,

but whatever the reason they descended upon Amardip.

The boy confessed openly saying he snatched baby Cushbu as she slept,

taking her to a field before hitting her repeatedly in the head with a brick.

He then partially buried her in a makeshift shallow grave, covering her little body with grass and

leaves.

When questioned as to motive, the eight-year-old only smiled in reply.
