Happy New Year! The holidays are over. It's negative Lord knows what with the

windshield. I'm hopped up on dayquil and it's been a month since I posted a

story. I apologize. I'm not exactly knocking it out of the park resolution wise

but I hope to hit my stride sometime in mid-January. Our next haunted neighbor

whose name is kept secret by Natalie Hoskins' generous support has lived quite

the life. We're on to Ghost Story No. 30. Not that kind of gym.

Chris and I recently joined lifetime fitness. It's a massive Costco of a gym

with a kids academy. The 30-minute sales pitch in tour was a waste. They'd close the

deal at the mention of three hours of childcare. I like to go in the

steam room until I can't stand it anymore and then chug a water and go sit in

the sauna until I can't stand that any longer. I'm prone to magical thinking and

I like to believe that overheating myself drains all the toxins out of my body

and atones for that extra glass of shard and I. On Wednesdays the kids have a

half day of school so I bring them to play in the kids academy while I take a

half-ass walk on the treadmill and then attempt to bake the alcohol and
