Dan Markham, the YouTuber who entertains more than 6 million subscribers each week,

sits down with me today to share his success story, how it all started with a lottery ticket

and a science project, the advice he gives to people wanting to start a YouTube channel,

and how they raise humble and kind kids in the making of it all.

Okay, today you guys, we have someone so exciting and really different for my podcast audience

that I think you're going to absolutely love.

His name's Dan Markham, and he is a friend of ours that we met sweating it out in the

Dominican Republic.

We went on a water trip with a company called Healing Waters, a nonprofit,

and did some work over there together. And I'm just super excited and grateful that he is taking

the time to be on the podcast today. So Dan, tell us about you and what you guys are up to and what

you're all about. Yeah, thank you you i love that you say that today is definitely

different i am definitely different i guess but my my name's dan mark i'm like you said i run the youtube

channel what's inside and so it's with me and my now 13 year old son lincoln and so basically we have

like six and a half million subscribers on youtube we have like a million on our family channel and then we have our other social media platforms. But this this wasn't something that we had planned to be, we didn't ever plan like I'm going to be a YouTuber in my life. But now here I am 39 years old and I know way more about YouTube than most 39 year old people should know

probably. But- Than anyone really. Yeah, but it's been a blast and it's given us a lot of really

unique fun opportunities and kind of change the trajectory of our family and our life over the last

five or six years. So much so that we get to do cool things

like when we went and did the light the world campaign went in Dominican Republic and we're able to

see the value of helping people in a third world country basically and so really really been blessed

and it's been such a blast but yeah I make YouTube videos for a living and a lot of times we cut stuff

open that's how it started just cutting things open and taking things apart but now we now we do a lot of times we cut stuff open. That's how it started,
