I remember fondly growing up watching the original Star Trek every single night.

But this is not a podcast about Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. It is instead about, in some ways,

the most successful Star Trek TV series from the late 80s and early 90s when I was in high school

in college, Star Trek the next generation, a show that really existed at a time when there

wasn't a lot of sci-fi on TV. It was one of the first popular syndicated drama series.

It sort of broke new ground there and became extremely

popular at a time when there weren't a lot of sci-fi shows on TV at all. So I think it kind of

gets lost when we look back because there's such a glut of sci-fi on TV now and for the last
