Today I'm talking about the three steps to evaluate and improve a child's current support package. We always

want to make sure that differently why our children are supported in the best and most effective

ways. So it's important to evaluate their current package at least every few months.

Today I'm talking about, again, the three steps to

figure out if they're getting what they need. Step number one, we want to identify the support

areas. So make a list of what services and supports the child is receiving and from whom.

This can include medical professionals such as general pediatrician, developmental

feeds, pediatric psychiatrist, neurologist, gastroenterologist, nutritionist, and the list

could go on. But you want to write down all the medical

professionals that are involved at this time. Then you move on to the therapies. And this can include

mental health therapy. It can include occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, all of those things would go ahead and come into this area.

Number three, part of what you want to write down is the education.

And this could be academic, environmental, and social, emotional, and behavior accommodations in school.

This area could also include parent, teacher, and school administration collaboration.

Then you want to move on to a next part would be routine physical exercise. Another one that we want to consider for an

area would be nutrition, sleep hygiene, social opportunities, parent support, which might include

friends, family, and maybe the parent also has a therapist.

You'll want to consider the area of home and community accommodations and modifications

to see if the current package for these are meeting their needs.
