If you're on the job hunt or prepping for it, here's something that I've never heard

said before, but it's important and true. The holidays are a very, very good time to apply

for a job. I've been in the hiring business for about 12 years now,

maybe a little more, and watch and waited for applications to come in every year from about

the week before Thanksgiving until about a week after January 1st. Applications go way, way down during that time.

Typically, you might be one of 50, 100, 150, or more applications that come in during just a week.

During this month and a half span, my guess would be the applications go down 75, maybe 80%.

People are busy traveling with the holidays.

They don't want to interview.

You know, they don't want to get an interview, say, a couple days before Christmas or on Christmas Eve.

I get it.

But this opens a huge opportunity for you to apply and stand out from the noise of so many other applicants.

The other side of this is that the recruiters, sure, they'll have a couple days off around Thanksgiving and Christmas, but they also will have plenty of work over the next month.

They need people to apply.
