Summary

Ever wonder why you trip up, flake out or suddenly lose interest in something you really-really want right as things finally start going your way?

Or maybe you’ve watched in awe (or horror) as someone you love keeps bailing on themself like that.

Seriously… why?

Why is this even a thing?

That is the question I aim to answer in this week’s episode of the podcast, diving heart-first into the messy, oh-so-human habit of self-sabotage.

“Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.” -Alyce Cornyn-Selby“What is required for many of us, paradoxical though it may sound, is the courage to tolerate happiness without self-sabotage.” -Nathaniel Brande“You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way.” -Emma Kate Dawson

And if I can say anything to help anyone else in that situation feel a little less stuck

0:53.3

or a little more self-compassionate, I am all about it.

And wisdom. That's what you get in exchange for your tight young body. You get wisdom, which in my case has been hard one through a harrowing clown show of personal trials.

And if there are any fans of human design listening right now, shout out to my fellow three lines.

of learning through trial and error and making lots of mistakes along the way.

1:43.7

We three lines, I think this is true of everybody, I don't know.

1:48.0

Probably we all have this energy in us somewhere going on, but we learn and develop

wisdom through experimentation and this willing to fail pioneering spirit.

2:02.0

The three line is sometimes called the pioneer or the martyr.
