We start with growing fears of war between Israel and Iran as Israeli soldiers engage Iran-backed Hezbollah

fighters in southern Lebanon. At least eight Israeli soldiers have been killed in

combat since the offensive started. A quarter of Lebanese territory is now under Israeli military

evacuation orders. People and dozens of villages have been ordered to move

more than 30 miles north of their homes and fears are growing that the war could spread into a wider regional

conflict. Arwa Damon is a former CNN correspondent who founded a nonprofit that

provides medical care to children injured or traumatized by the horrors of war.

She spoke to us from Beirut.

So the Lebanese are absolutely terrified of where this could potentially go.

And also we have to remember that they've been watching what's been

happening in Gaza and even though Gazans have basically been live streaming

their own slaughter nothing has changed for them and so a lot of people when you talk to them out in the streets

are just saying you know who is going to protect us who is going to come and

ensure that Lebanon does not turn into another Gaza.

Yesterday, Iran launched its largest ever attack on Israel.

Iran says it fired 200 ballistic missiles,

but Israel said the attack had failed. Israel has vowed to respond, but President

Joe Biden said he doesn't support a potential Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear

sites.
