Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to Wilmington, Delaware this afternoon to meet with presidential

campaign staff. That's according to updated guidance from her office and a

social media post on X. Earlier Monday she spoke at a White House event for

college championship athletes.

Her first public appearance since President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid and

endorsed her.

She said she first came to know Biden through his son Bo when they worked together as

attorneys general and hailed Biden's qualities as president.

His honesty, his integrity, his commitment to his faith and his family,

his big heart, and his love, deep love of our country.

Biden has said he'll finish his term and will address the nation this week.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has endorsed Harris. Democratic leadership

will endorse her as soon as today, according to multiple sources familiar with the decision.

Some lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee are calling on the Secret Service Director to resign,

after a failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Today, Kimberly Chido repeatedly dodged questions about what happened at Trump's rally in Pennsylvania,

including who was responsible for watching the roof where the shooter fired from,

and security failures. She cited ongoing investigations to explain why she couldn't answer questions.

She also said no one within the agency has been disciplined for their role the day of the shooting,

and that agencies are still being interviewed.
