Inflation's fingerprints are all over this year's race for the White House.

Skyrocketing prices at the gas station, the supermarket, and basically everywhere else, scared Americans in the early days of President Joe Biden's term.

Now inflation is almost back to normal, but the American dream still feels out of reach for so many.

CNN's Matt Egan explains how this single issue is playing out for former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Yeah, Madeline, it really does all go back to inflation.

Those skyrocketing prices, they turned voters off to Bidenomics almost immediately.

The problem for Democrats is that even though the rate of inflation is down, prices are not.

They're still going up just at a slower pace.

The typical household has to spend $1,100 more per month just to buy the same

goods and services that they did in January 2021 when Biden took office. The former President

Trump, he's seized on this economic anxiety. He's promising to confront inflation by shaking

things up in a big way. He's promising massive tariffs, deportation, and huge tax cuts.

But the ironic thing is many mainstream economists, they're warning that the Trump agenda is inflationary,

perhaps very inflationary.

A new analysis found that billionaire Elon Musk's misleading or false election posts

have been viewed more than two billion times on his social media platform X.

That's according to the Center for Countering Digital Hate, a nonprofit that tracks misinformation.
