President Joe Biden and his barely Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

spoke over the phone today for the first time since Israel's deadly strike on a convoy of aid workers in Gaza Monday.

The White House says Biden told Netanyahu that the overall humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable

and warned Israel to take steps to address the crisis and protect civilians or face

consequences. Here is US Secretary of State Anthony Blaken during a news conference

in Brussels. With regard to our policy in Gaza, look, just say this, if we don't see the

changes that we need to see, there'll be changes in our own policy.

Israel has acknowledged responsibility and apologized for the strike, but claims the convoy was not targeted and the workers' deaths were not intentional.

The Israeli government says findings from its investigation are expected quote in the

coming weeks. Biden is still expected to approve an 18 billion dollar sale of

fighter jets to Israel after the US also recently authorized the transfer of over 1,500 pound bombs and over

a thousand small diameter bombs.

That's according to three people familiar with the matter.
