My name is Alex Doherty and this week I'll be discussing Xenofeminism with Patricia Reed.

that swarms with technological mediation, interlacing our daily lives with abstraction,

virtuality and complexity. Xenofeminism constructs the feminism adapted to these realities,

a feminism of unprecedented cunning, scale and vision,

a future in which the realisation of gender justice and feminist emancipation

contribute to a universalist politics, assembled from the needs of every human,

cutting across race, ability, economic standing and geographical position.

These are the opening words of the manifesto of xenopheminism, subtitled A Politics for Alienation,

first published in 2015 by the Laboria Cubonics Collective.

I spoke to one of the members of the group, Patricia Reid, about the manifesto. Patricia is an artist, writer and designer based in Berlin.

Her work is concerned with models of cohabitation adapted to our planetary scale condition.

I began by asking Patricia to expound on the key themes of the manifesto, the appropriation

and repurposing of technology to feminist revolutionary ends, gender abolitionism, and

the manifesto's advocacy of a rigorously anti-naturalist politics.

So the three, yeah, the three key points of the manifesto, I mean, the questions that you sort of like kindly sent me in advance.
