It's so great to be back with you, David. How are you today?

I'm doing fantastic Kula. And as always, I'm looking forward to having a great three question episode.

And I hope you don't have more than three. I don't have more

than three, David, but I wish I could include more than three because today's conversation is

debriefing your episode with Val Ackerman. She's the commissioner of the Big East Conference. And talk about a

strong, smart, powerful female leader. I listened to this episode and was so inspired to

just continue learning and growing in my own leadership ability and studying what she's done

over the course of her career is truly remarkable. Yeah, I think what's really great about Val

is that she's thought so much about leadership and teamwork. And she shares a lot of it in the

episode. And it's an episode I think everybody should listen to. Couldn't agree more. Definitely

give the episode a listen if you haven't already. For today, though, we've got three questions

on deck, David. Are you ready for it? Fire away.

Question number one. Part of Val's leadership ethos is what she calls the five Ds. The fifth D, she calls dividing it up, meaning every

leader has to figure out who you have to involve in each decision you make and then divide it up

accordingly. David, this concept of involving others is a key pillar in your leadership framework

too. Explain what you mean by this. Well, I think if I had to pick one law of leadership

and taking people with you, it would be no involvement means no commitment.

So you have to take the time to get people involved, give them the opportunity to input on the

decision. And if they have that opportunity to input, that will get them more committed to execute what

needs to be done.
