Welcome to How Leaders Lead. I'm Kula Callahan, here to bring you another edition of three more questions with David Novak.

0:05.9

David, it's great to be with you today. We've got a fun conversation on our hands today.

0:10.8

Absolutely. It's with Tom Nolan, the CEO of Kendra Scott. And Tom is the leader I really admire because he leads the right way.

0:19.6

I mean, he really believes in people, cares about people,

0:22.6

and is passionate about making sure that he serves them versus them serving him. And I think

0:29.5

he really gets what leadership is all about. I totally agree, David. He actually says in the

0:33.9

episode that his employees are his boss. And even though he's a CEO, that's truly

0:39.1

customers and employees is like a good thing to do. But when we say that it's what has driven

1:20.0

results for Kendra Scott, they have experienced double digit growth for 44 months in a row.

1:27.4

All 44 of those months, by the way, Tom Nolan has been

1:30.5

CEO. So this is a style of leadership that not only creates a really great work environment

1:35.6

for your people, but really does drive those bottom line results. And you know, Kula,

1:40.6

anybody in retail knows that if you get double digitdigit same store sales growth, you know,

1:47.4

44 months in a row on that you are just kicking some major league butt.

1:51.7

Exactly, exactly.

1:53.0

And David, I'm excited to get your take on some of the concepts that you and Tom talked about
