0:00.0	I've always thought that you can learn almost every skill set one might want to learn in
0:19.0	the garden, whether it's biology or math or science or physics or patience even some
0:25.4	of the softer skills in life.
0:27.2	I'm curious, we have Ashley Thomas back in the show, organic gardener in North Carolina's

0:32.9	What are some of the things that has taught you, Ashley?
0:37.4	You know, I spend a lot of time reflecting on what the garden teaches me and I come from
0:47.0	a scientific background.
0:48.5	So of course that allows me to utilize that scientific arm but there are some more of
0:55.6	those more holistic concepts that the garden teaches me, things that are based in virtue
1:02.9	and really things that we try to practice each day as human beings and you know, three
1:09.3	of those things I would say that the garden has really taught me over my journey as, you
1:17.3	know, compassion, respect and also just not trying to control everything.
1:25.5	But recognizing that, you know, I am limited as a human and that's okay.
1:31.4	That's okay.
1:32.4	Yeah, I think I did not learn the control element or the lack of control element until many
1:40.7	years into the season or many years into my growing journey because I just thought I,
1:45.8	oh, it's, you know, I'm the gardener, I'm the one making the plant grow.
1:50.6	And of course, you know, that might be true if you're like growing it indoors and you're
1:54.0	bathing it through every step, but the second you get a more complex, sort of natural
1:58.7	ecosystem style garden, you really quickly realize that that's just not the case.
