My name is Mike Foster, and this is fun therapy. On the Fun Therapy couch today is my friend Jason Russell.

Jason is the founder of the nonprofit Invisible Children, and he and his wife Danica are the authors of the new book A Little Radical.

In 2012, Jason and the Invisible Children's team launched the most successful viral campaign in history.

It was called Coney 2012.

Not only was it a roaring success, but led to Jason having a highly publicized mental breakdown.

In this session, we talked about the need to achieve and to prove himself.

And how do you process the humiliation of knowing 10 million people

watched you lose your mind while naked on a street corner.

I know you've got a lot going on in your world right now. You've got a lot.

Family stuff, change, moving, some big things coming up in terms of

you know travel and all the experiences how is how is Jason yeah I mean see how is Jason how is Jason

Jason has been, Jason's like in the in between where I think a lot of people are in terms of

believing that the next thing, the next success or the next chapter or adventure is like just around the corner or just on the next horizon and then when you get there you'll be fine.

But what I'm learning is that that's an illusion.

That's not really true, that you are where you are and the point is to you know be fully present in that moment

because that's really all you have and you know you'll get there when you get there. I mean one of the things

we always lived by with Invisible Children was kind of a Dan Eldon mantra which is like the journey is the destination and for so long a

colleague was like that doesn't make any sense and then like eight years into

the journey he was like, I get it. I get that. And I think that's where I'm at because right now there's like anxiety and fear and excitement all wrapped around like the
