At some point in our lives, we all have heard an urban legend.

From the idea that Walt Disney has been cryogenically frozen, to the slew of something something men

on whoever crosses their path. The first time I recall hearing about an urban legend was when I was

a little girl in elementary school, and it was about Bloody Mary, a spirit who if you chanted her name

three times within a dark room while looking in a mirror,

she would appear.

She would either look like a sweet, innocent girl looking back at you in the mirror,

or a horrifying apparition covered in blood who was going to reach through the glass

and tear your eyes out of their sockets.

One day, long ago, a classmate of mine came running back to her seat from the bathroom

during recess.

She was hysterically crying, but she managed to blurt out that she had seen Bloody Mary

Her older sister, who was also at school with us, had taunted her when they ran into each other
