There's probably nothing I like more in the plant world than discovering that some of

the knowledge we all think is correct is actually incorrect.

So I'm talking today with Kelly Evans of a greener room.

She's a plant stylist, plant consultant, and you know, whether it be indoors or outdoors,

there's a lot of myths out there of how to care for plants that have come from who knows

where.

I mean, old wisdom from a hundred years ago that doesn't hold up to scrutiny today.

I don't really know.

It doesn't honestly really matter where it came from, but what matters is how it may not

be true.

Kelly, you've got a couple myths that you want to share.

So hit me.

I'm always a fan.

I love plant myths, and it is really interesting to see how people don't like these myths to

be busted.

They get a little angry, so hopefully I don't anger anyone today, but my first one, which

is one of my first reels to ever go viral, was on this one, and I can tell you a lot of

people were not in agreement, is putting rocks in the bottom of a pot that does not have

any drainage holes specifically, that that will provide it with drainage, not true.

I did one on this myself, and yeah, it is wild how strongly people believe either side

of this, especially the side where they say it does do something, because I think in plants

people say, well, it worked for me, so it's true.
