Hey, welcome to the one time of year.

Welcome to the exact one time of year that you care about college basketball.

Here it is, everybody. It begins now. So for a very short jaunt, you'll care. You'll get invested.

And then you'll forget the sport exists. Hopefully that changes with all of the work that Luke Lokes is doing

and the stuff that he's hoping to accomplish here.

Because that's true when Florida State matters,

and I'm being very specific to my audience here,

when Florida State matters, then we pay attention to college basketball because we have a

place in it that's relevant. And you compare and contrast what we are and what everybody else is,

and you project. And when you do that, you have a roving eye for potential matchups, both in season, in conference play,

and obviously this, the grand finale of them all, the NCAA tournament.

It is hard to conjure up the same sort of enthusiasm and excitement for the tournament

when you don't matter.

And we haven't mattered for four years.

Now, I still love it because it's nostalgic.

It's still part of my youth, part of a process that I absolutely adore.

I can mark time by the NCAA tournament.
