Hey, good morning my friends, and welcome back to the morning mindset.

It is time for you and me to take this opportunity right here at the beginning of

the day to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

Hey, I want to say hello and thank you to four new friends that my wife and my daughter and I made just this last week when we had

our morning Mindsette meet-up in Dallas-Fort Worth area. We met four believers who

just encouraged us so much, Eric and Jackie, a married couple, and then two sisters,

Marina and Elena. Thank you so much for coming out, friends. It was great to meet you and to hear your stories of faith.

We may be doing some more morning mindset

meetups in the future in other cities as my family and I travel a bit. I hope

that we do and I hope that you'll stay tuned to see if we'll be in an area near you.

All right let's dig back into 2nd Peter chapter 2 we are looking at verse number 1 and

Peter has introduced the idea and actually it's more than an idea it's a reality

that false teachers will rise up in the church. He believes that people who come along with impure motives will take

the truth about Jesus and about God himself and twist those things to their own advantage.

Now sometimes for me that's a little hard to get my brain around.

I mean how can teaching something falsely be to your own advantage?

I mean we think about disciplines like mathematics or science and teaching them improperly seems to hurt the student but doesn't really have an advantage

for the one instructing.

Although I imagine there's ways that you can figure out how that could be the case.

But in this case, think about teaching from a spiritual standpoint.

What happens when someone teaches in a way that misleads those that are being taught.

Well, spiritual truths and spiritual issues are deep issues, aren't they?

...
