morning mindset. It is time for us to get our minds aligned with the truth of God. My

second Peter and my friends this is a monumental day. We started the book of second

Peter back on January 24th and we're finally to chapter 2 today. Just over a month

it's taken us to get through chapter two. And Peter's going to

begin talking about the issue of false teaching and false prophecy. And very interestingly, we had a question come in from a listener

not long ago about the issue of false teachers in the church and I recorded a

bonus episode in the digging deeper podcast feed which is additional content you can

find if you become a partner with the morning mindset you can find a description of how to do that

in the description of this podcast episode. But in 2

2 verse number 1 we find Peter beginning to speak about false

prophets as he calls them.

These are people who back in the day of Moses and the different prophets who

spoke would put themselves forward as a prophet themselves when in fact they were not a legitimate prophet, they were not sent by God.

And so that's what Peter's referring back to, because he's just been speaking about the Messianic prophecies and how he saw them fulfilled in his own

experience with Jesus. And so he's still on that theme of talking about prophecy and he says,

but false prophets also rose among the people.
