Welcome back my friends. I hope you're ready to get your minds aligned with the

truth of God. Yesterday's episode of the morning mindset took us into some deep

deep theological waters.

As Peter, we're reading in 2 Peter, chapter 1,

explained to us where prophecy comes from and how it comes directly from God through men.

Now today we're going to dig into that a little more to understand some of the nuances

and details of what that is like and we're not going to get a 100% clear

picture of how this happens because there's something divine happening here

something supernatural that God does and so we don't know all the details and

Peter doesn't reveal all the details but I believe he tells us enough to

understand the basics and that those basics can give us some confidence and

some assurance in what we find in the scriptures. So we're going to go back to

2 Peter chapters 1 versus 20 and 21. I'm going to read it and then we'll talk about a little bit.

Peter says knowing this, first of all, that no prophecy of scripture comes from someone's own interpretation.

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

So you see God gives a human writer the truth, the reality of what they are to say when they're writing down a prophecy and they

then are led or carried along by the Holy Spirit is the way that Peter says it.

They are led to write it down in a certain way.

Now it seems like from reading the various passages of scripture,

you know Paul's writings and Matthew's writing and

John's writing and David's writing it seems like the Holy Spirit used the unique

personality and gifting and perspective of the human author, yet wrote

...
