Hello my friends and I just want to say that I realized this morning that I say that

a lot don't I I always say hello my friends or good morning my friends and it could easily become kind of a

rope thing and I guess in a way it has but not out of ill intent I really mean it I feel

that those of you who listen in the morning mindset are quickly

becoming my friends. I hear from some of you and you tell me your stories, you email me and we carry on

a short conversation sometimes and I so appreciate that I believe that we as

a family of Christ are indeed united in this pursuit of alighting our minds with God's truth every morning.

And I want to thank you.

I want to thank you for that partnership.

I want to thank you for being my friend in this.

And that we get to work together to move forward in our faith.

Now we are in the book of second Peter

and we are looking in chapter one verse number two today

where Peter is still within the section of his letter that is part of the greeting

that he is writing to the people who are reading his book. And he says, may grace and peace be

multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus, our Lord.

Now I think it's very important to look at these words carefully because often Peter or

Paul or John when they write a letter will include as part of their greeting a phrase like this

May grace and peace be yours in this case Peter says may grace and peace be multiplied to you. So Peter feels very much

that he wants these people to receive the blessing of God in the form of grace and in the form of peace.

Well it's important that we understand what those words mean. Now peace is pretty obvious.

It's not just the absence of conflict, which is true.
