Good morning my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. I hope you are ready

to get your mind aligned with the truth of God today. If you're not, just take a deep breath.

Push away whatever is in your mind right now and focus yourself on this task of hearing God's truth, embracing it and adopting it, and moving

into your day with a new perspective that he gives you through his truth.

We've been looking at the book of 2 Peter, chapter 3.

I'm going to read you verses 11 and 12, because that's where we're at we're focusing on some realities that are

ahead for us in human history. Peter says since all these things are thus to be

dissolved now the these things he's talking about is everything.

The heavens, the earth, all of human history is going to be wrapped up and

dissolved at the end of time when Jesus returns.

And he says, since all these things are thus to be dissolved,

what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness

and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of

which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn.

There's some mysteries here in this verse. I have to admit that. There's some parts of

this I don't entirely understand.

And the part I'm talking about mainly is where he says as we live lives of holiness and

godliness and as we are waiting for the coming day of the Lord

we somehow also are hastening it. Now how is the fact that we live according to the godliness and holiness through the

power of Jesus Christ how is that hastening or quickening or bringing sooner the day of God, that day of judgment that he's describing.

And I just have to be honest and say, I don't entirely know how that is true.

But the fact that I don't know or that it's confusing to me
