Good morning my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. It is time for you and for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God Think that through. We want to line up our way of

thinking with God's way of thinking and we do that through studying and applying

the scriptures. Don't forget that last part, the application. We've got to do more

than stuff our heads full of knowledge. We've got to actually apply it through action

We are looking at 2-meter chapter 1,

and we have gotten to verse 8 which is kind of

Peter's summary of this list of characteristics that he has been encouraging

followers of Christ to add to their faith.

One last clarification there.

This does not mean there's anything deficient about our faith.

It just means that our faith should be producing certain changes in us.

And sometimes those changes, many times, most of the time, those changes, require a decision on our part because God wants us actively involved in our own transformation.

And so we have to set our minds to move toward these characteristics. And here is Peter's summary statement about this list of characteristics.

He says, for if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our

Lord Jesus Christ.

My friends, isn't that exactly what we want as believers in Jesus Christ?

I believe all of us want to be lying on our deathbed or looking back over our lives as an

old man or an old woman and say I have kept the

course I have finished the faith the Lord has done a great work through my life

you know we want to see that we've been effective and fruitful because of our faith in Jesus Christ.
