Good morning my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. It's time for you and

for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God and I say that quite often but I mean it every single

time. We need the word of God to get ourselves aligned with what he wants for

We have been working through 2 Peter chapter 1 and from verses 5 through 8, Peter gives us a list of qualities and we've reached the end of those

qualities. These are things we're to be adding to our faith, he says. And though we

reach the end of the list, he's not done talking about it.

He still has some more things to say.

We looked yesterday at verse number nine

where Peter says, whoever lacks these qualities is being ineffective and unfruitful in their knowledge.

And so if we have them and if they're growing, we won't be ineffective or unfruitful.

But then he goes on in verse 9 and he says,

whoever lacks these qualities is so near-sided

that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Wow, that's a very vivid image, isn't it?

I mean, he's saying, this person can only see

what's right in front of them, what's immediate, what's happening right now

and the here and now, and he's forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Now what's Peter's point? He's saying that if you live the kind of life

where once upon a time you placed your faith in Jesus Christ, but you go on living for the present, for what's immediate, responding
