I don't want to speak for both of us will, but probably neither of us found very exciting.

Yeah, so I'm not going to come here with the contrarian take that she's bad, okay?

And I'm not even going to say she's overrated. She is good. In fact, I think in the movies

that we watched this week, she's consistently overrated. She is good. In fact, I think in the movies that we watched

this week, she's consistently very magnetic. She just gets trapped in bad movies or mediocre

movies. There are two reasons why I've never been excited to do a Merrill Street episode,

and the first one is that filmography. You look at it, and obviously there are good movies in there. There are even a few

great ones, I think. I'm a big Bridges of Madison County fan. However, most of them are prestige

films. They are white elephant art, and you get to see the white elephant art of every decade,

or at least that's the way they seem. And so you see a

movie like Sophie's Choice, and it's like, oh man, that looks like Oscar bait. Let's go through

the movies that are good. I'm just looking real quick at her filmography. You have stuff like

Despy Comes Her. She's great in that. You already mentioned Bridges of Madison County. She's excellent in adaptation. Just looking over it, looking at all these posters, it's like, I don't really feel like watching any of these movies right now. It's not award season where you feel pressed to watch these movies if you want to be in any kind of conversation because, of course, Meryl Streep was nominated like she is every year. Well, you know, I think on this podcast, we have often gravitated to the high and the low.

We've often gravitated towards, you know, hard art cinema as well as the lowest of low culture.

And Merrill Street falls right in the middle there or in the upper middle.
