Summary
In today's episode, Emily is talking about stepping into a new season in life and sharing lessons learned with others who may be struggling. Sometimes when you're struggling or dealing with challenges in life, just seeing someone else on the other side of it can be so helpful and can give hope and encouragement to keep going. Transitions and changes can be difficult and you may feel resistance or a mourning period of that part of your life that is no longer for you. But try to recognize what it is that is happening and know that not everything can come with you into the next season. Whatever challenges you are facing, tell yourself "I was made for this." See these things as an opportunity to learn and grow in your faith in God.
In this episode we talk about:
- Emily shares her devotionals from this morning
- Feeling like you can't hear God? You need to refocus the attention and energy that you give him
- Every circumstance and season you go through is related to your life's journey
- Transitions in life can be difficult, but there is a purpose for them
- Finding God within you by being still, present and looking inward

| 0:00.0 | Hello everyone and welcome to the Evolve with Emily show. I am your host, Emily Hayden, |
| 0:04.8 | and happy Monday to everybody that is listening to this in real time. It is Monday, August 8th. |
| 0:10.8 | And this last week was the first week in August. And you guys know every single new month, |
| 0:15.9 | I have shared with you before. I always write my intentions at the very top of my calendar. |
| 0:20.8 | And I make sure that all of my |
| 0:22.2 | actions during that month, a tribute to those goals and those intentions that I have for that |
| 0:27.5 | month. And I'll tell you what, last week was just a pretty rough week in the sense that everything |
| 0:33.1 | was kind of out of my control, and it was, you know, sleepless nights and things like that that |
| 0:39.3 | made the week very difficult. And I realized by Friday, which was the fifth, that five days had gone |
| 0:45.1 | by and I had not even had a touch point on my goals and intentions for the month. They're very |
| 0:51.0 | specific in certain areas of my life. And it's like my life was just so crazy. |
| 0:55.6 | I hadn't had any time and attention on that. So on Friday, instead of prioritizing something that |
| 1:01.3 | normally would have been prioritized on Friday, I put that to the side. I prioritize my goals. |
| 1:06.0 | And man, it felt so good to make such a good little a little bit of headway and progress on those things. |
| 1:13.4 | So I mentioned that because, guys, seriously, simply just writing out your goals and intentions |
| 1:18.7 | for the month can be so helpful. It can keep you on track. As you're going throughout the month, |
| 1:23.7 | you look at it and you say, have I had a touch point on this thing? And the goal truly would be |
| 1:28.0 | to have even just a small touch point on it daily every single day. But for the tasks that I had, |
| 1:34.2 | I needed a very large amount of time to dedicate towards it to like kickstart it to get it off and going. |
| 1:40.0 | So I was glad I was finally able to do that. And it relieved so much stress, so much anxiety. |
| 1:45.9 | So I really do just mention it because you guys probably have something that maybe you're even |
| 1:50.1 | thinking of right now that has been on your mind. You keep saying that you need to do this thing, |
... |
